The International Clarinet Workshop (ICW) was founded by clarinetist Alexander Fiterstein who was raised in the Galilee and received his first musical training in the region. He later went on to study at the Juilliard school and won several International awards including first prize at the 2nd Carl Nielsen International Clarinet Competition in Denmark and the Avery Fisher Career Grant Award in New York. The ICW is a clarinet seminar for advanced clarinet students and enthusiasts from around the world. The maximum number of participants will be 15. The daily schedule includes warm up and fundamentals classes with Lisa Perry, Masterclasses with Alexander Fiterstein, Ron Selka, and Yevgeny Yehudin, chamber music and orchestra excerpts classes.

Faculty
Alexander Fiterstein is recognized as one of today’s most exceptional clarinetists. Mr. Fiterstein has been praised by The New York Times for possessing a "beautiful liquid clarity," and The Washington Post wrote, "Fiterstein treats his instrument as his own personal voice, dazzling in its spectrum of colors, agility and range. Every sound he makes is finely measured without inhibiting expressiveness." A recipient of the prestigious Avery Fisher Career Grant, he performs with orchestras and chamber groups throughout the world. He appeared as a soloist with the Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra, Kansas City Symphony, Belgrade Philharmonic Orchestra, China National Symphony Orchestra, Israel Chamber Orchestra, Orchestra of St. Luke's at Lincoln Center, Tokyo Philharmonic and Vienna Chamber Orchestra. A dedicated performer of chamber music, Mr. Fiterstein frequently collaborates with distinguished artists and ensembles. He was a member of the prestigious Chamber Music Society II of Lincoln Center, participated in the Marlboro Music Festival for five summers and toured with musicians from Marlboro. Yevgeny Yehudin was appointed Principal Clarinet of the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra in 2002 and serves as a clarinet teacher at the Rubin Academy in Jerusalem and at the Buchmann-Mehta School of Music at Tel Aviv University.
He has appeared as a soloist with the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra under the baton of Music Director Zubin Mehta and with the Israel Sinfonietta Beer Sheva. He performs frequently as a chamber musician with renowned artists such as Yuri Bashmet, Nabuko Imai, Elena Bashkirova, Guy Braunstein, Gary Hoffman, Steven Kovacevic, the Ysaye String Quartet and the Jerusalem String Quartet. Additionally, he has appeared at the Jerusalem International Chamber Music Festival, the Gaia Chamber Music Festival in Thun and at the Rolandseck Festival.
Yevgeny Yehudin records frequently for radio stations both in Israel and abroad. Mr. Yehudin is a regular member of The New Israel Woodwind Quintet. He recorded label CD’s for the Israel Music Center, Meridian and DUX. www.yevgenyyehudin.com
Ron Selka, Principal Clarinetist of the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra, has appeared in recitals and chamber music concerts in Europe, the USA and Israel. He has performed as a soloist with the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra under the baton of Maestro Zubin Mehta as well as with the Jerusalem Symphony Orchestra, the Israel Symphony Orchestra, Rishon Lezion and the IDF Chamber Orchestra. An active chamber musician, Ron Selka was a prizewinner in both the Coleman and Fischoff Chamber Music Competitions in the USA (1994). He has collaborated with artists such as Maxim Vengerov, Julian Rachlin and Mischa Maisky, Mira Zakai & Aviram Reichert. He is a faculty member of the Buchmann-Mehta School of Music in Tel Aviv University and frequently records for Israel Radio. Born in Israel, he studied with Mr. Eli Heifetz and Mr. Richard Lesser. He earned his B.M. and M.M. at Indiana University, Bloomington, where he studied with Eli Eban and James Campbell and where he won the Woodwind Concerto Competition (1994). www.ronselka.com
Currently based in Johnson City, Tennessee, Lisa Perry is the clarinet instructor at East Tennessee State University. Dr. Perry has appeared with the North Carolina Symphony Orchestra, the North Carolina Master Chorale, and the Stamford International Chamber Music Festival (UK). Dr. Perry has assisted at the Interlochen Center for Arts Clarinet Academy and is currently on faculty at Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp in Michigan and the International Music Camp in North Dakota/Canada. Dr. Perry earned her Doctor of Musical Arts degree in clarinet performance at the University of Minnesota, where she studied with Alexander Fiterstein. Dr. Perry was a teaching assistant and Berneking fellowship recipient at the University of Minnesota. She received her Master of Music degree in clarinet performance at Florida State University and holds a Bachelor of Music degree in clarinet performance from East Carolina University. www.lisawperry.com
